Kanan Aghayev

Kanan Aghayev has over 20 years of expertise in finance, banking and business management—particularly in financing and steering small and medium-sized enterprises—and more than a decade in academia. He specializes in corporate governance, design and implementation of management systems, and  development and execution of corporate, business and financial strategies. His technical fields include micro and macroeconomics, monetary theory, financial markets and banking.

Kanan Aghayev holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Finance and Banking from Azerbaijan State University of Economics and completed PhD in “Econometrics: Mathematical and Instrumental Methods in Economics” at the Scientific Research Institute for Economic Reforms under the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He has authored several articles on capital and capital markets.

Over the past seven years, he has led advisory and executive services for more than 100 companies—shaping their financial, business and corporate strategies, and overseeing the diagnosis, design, implementation and management of their financial-accounting and tax systems.
